*NOTE* Thanks to Nate Caminata for letting me join this project. As a word of introduction, I also currently serve as the Lions correspondent for DraftTek.com and much of my writing can be found on Bleacher Report. I grew up in Muskegon, MI but currently reside in Minnesota. My radio show can be heard each Sunday at 6:05 EST on KNUJ.net.

Kevin Seifert and John Clayton of ESPN.com have both named the Lions as a potential landing spot for Kentucky Defensive End (and Supplemental Draftee) Jeremy Jarmon. Jarmon would have been a mid-round prospect in the 2010 draft but decided to declare early after losing a year of eligibility testing for a banned substance.
Jarmon has let teams know what the substance is but will not say so publicly, leading to rampant speculation. Jarmon has said the failed test was a non-issue for most teams.
At 6'3" 277, Jarmon has similar size to Jared DeVries and projects as a strong side DE in the NFL. He has decent but not spectacular speed (4.7-4.8) but good all-around athleticism.
18 teams watched his campus Pro Day. The Lions are thought to be the most interested along with the Redskins and Eagles.
The NFL Supplemental Draft is conducted via email. Each team submits a proposal of which pick in the 2010 Draft they would give up for a given player. Jarmon is thought to be worth a 4th round pick.
